Categories of personal data processed by COVERiT
Personal data processed when communicating with COVERiT:
When you are in contact with us by email, telephone, online or in person, we collect personal data such as company name, first name, surname, postal address, telephone number, email address and your preferences for being contacted.
Categories of recipients of personal data
Other service providers:
COVERiT uses its own services to send emails.
Further disclosure of information:
We may disclose data about you to others: (a) where we have your valid consent to do so; (b) to comply with a valid subpoena, legal order, court order, legal process or other legal obligation; (c) to enforce our terms or policies; or (d) as necessary to pursue available remedies or defend legal claims.
In addition, in the event of a reorganisation, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposal of all or part of the business, assets or shares of COVERiT, including in connection with insolvency or similar proceedings, we may transfer your personal data to affiliated companies, subsidiaries or third parties, provided that any such party to which we transfer personal data is not permitted to process your personal data in a manner other than as described in this privacy notice without informing you and, where required by applicable law, obtaining your consent.
2. Hosting and delivery
This website is hosted by Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG, Espelkamp, Germany. Mittwald processes the resulting data on our behalf as a processor under a data processing agreement pursuant to Article 28 GDPR.
When the website is accessed, connection data such as IP address, time, requested address, browser information and technical errors are processed in order to deliver the website, keep it secure and investigate faults. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering the website securely and reliably (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data are retained only for as long as required for these purposes and then deleted.
3. Contact
If you contact us by email or telephone, we process the information you provide to handle your request. Depending on the matter, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b), (c) or (f) GDPR. You can reach us at office@coverit.de or +49 8031 94 11 833. Information is deleted once the matter has been concluded unless statutory retention duties apply.
Product request via the product advisor
In the last step of the product advisor you can send us a request. We process your name and email address (required), and on a voluntary basis your company name, telephone number, preferred way of contact, availability (days and times) and message, as well as your answers in the product advisor, the products recommended on that basis, the language of the page and the time of the request. Without your name and email address we cannot answer the request; if you choose telephone as your preferred way of contact, we also need your telephone number.
No information is transmitted before you submit the request. After submission, we send the request by email to office@coverit.de; the website itself does not store it in a database. Replies to this email go to the address you provided. You do not receive an automatic confirmation email, and we do not use the information for advertising or a newsletter.
The purpose is to answer your request, provide product advice and, where applicable, prepare a quotation. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract); where the request is not aimed at a contract, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. You may object to this processing under Article 21 GDPR. The information is deleted once your request has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention duties apply, for example for quotations and business correspondence.
General enquiry via the contact form
On the contact page you can write to us using a form. We process your name, email address and message (required), and on a voluntary basis your company name and telephone number, as well as the language of the page and the time of the request. Without name, email address and message we cannot answer the request.
Sending and purpose are the same as for the product request: after submission, the request is sent by email to office@coverit.de, the website does not store it in a database, replies go to the address you provided, and there is no automatic confirmation, advertising or newsletter. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request is aimed at a contract or a quotation, otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. You may object to this processing under Article 21 GDPR. The information is deleted once your request has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
Protection of both forms against misuse
On submission, the website checks a field that is invisible to people and a form token of the page you opened. It also counts submissions per IP address for ten minutes and per website for one hour and temporarily rejects further submissions after that. For this purpose the IP address is processed only for that period in the website cache and is not sent with the request. No additional cookie is set. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in being reachable without misuse.
4. Job applications
If you apply for an advertised position, we process the application documents you submit in order to conduct the recruitment procedure. Applications reach us by email to office@coverit.de or by post to the address given above; no application documents can be uploaded through this website itself.
The legal basis is section 26(1) of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). Access is limited to the people involved in the recruitment procedure. After the procedure has ended, application documents are deleted as soon as they are no longer required for the hiring decision or the defence of possible legal claims; this normally takes place no later than six months afterwards. Longer retention takes place only with consent or where required by law.
5. Cookies, browser storage and consent
The website uses Klaro! Consent Manager. Optional services are disabled initially. Your consent or refusal is stored for 180 days in the first-party cookie coverit_consent, without a personal user identifier. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with effect for the future using “Privacy settings” in the footer; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal (Article 7(3) GDPR). Necessary security and sign-in functions remain active. The website does not activate analytics or marketing services.
When you use the weather feature and select a place, coverit_weather_location_v1 in local browser storage holds the place name, rounded coordinates and the most recently retrieved weather information with its expiry time. No location history is created. The entry remains until deleted; expired weather information is refreshed when the feature is used again. Use “Delete saved weather location and location preference” in the footer or your browser settings to remove the saved selection. The deletion function also removes an entry used previously, coverit_weather_geolocation_v1.
DWG and DXF files are available as downloads; no CAD viewer is loaded and no storage entry is created for one.
6. External content and weather
Maps, social networks and other external websites are opened through outgoing links. Only when you open such a link do you leave this website and connect to the respective provider.
YouTube videos. Preview images are served by this website. A YouTube player is loaded only after you have consented to YouTube in the cookie settings and started the selected video. The player is embedded through www.youtube-nocookie.com. Further Google servers may then be contacted and data including your IP address, browser information and usage data may be transmitted to Google. Google may use cookies or other storage technologies. Google Ireland Limited is responsible for the service in the European Economic Area. Embedding is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Further information: Google Privacy Policy.
Withdrawal through “Privacy settings” stops embedded players and prevents further starts without renewed consent. It cannot retrieve data already transmitted or delete cookies on Google domains. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area; its privacy policy describes the transfer mechanisms it uses.
Weather display. Location access starts when you choose “Use my location” or automatically on page load, but only if you consented to “Local weather” in the cookie dialog; your browser's location permission also applies. The automatic request is based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; withdrawal through “Privacy settings” deletes the saved weather location. There is no continuous location tracking. Alternatively, you can submit a town or postcode manually. Coordinates are rounded to no more than two decimal places before transmission.
This website requests place names from OpenStreetMap Nominatim and weather information from MET Norway through its own server. Your browser does not connect directly to these providers for this purpose. The providers receive the requested place or rounded coordinates and the connection data needed for the server request. Results are cached for subsequent delivery. You can revoke voluntary browser location permission in your browser settings and delete the saved weather selection through the footer. Provider information: OpenStreetMap Foundation and MET Norway.
7. Fonts and media files
Fonts and media files are served by this website itself. Loading a page does not establish a connection to an external font CDN.
8. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as required for the relevant purpose or by statutory retention duties. The data are then deleted or anonymised. The relevant criteria are the matter handled and the system concerned; indefinite retention based solely on an assumed future interest is not intended.
9. Your rights
Subject to the statutory requirements, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. To exercise your rights, contact office@coverit.de.
10. Supervisory authority
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority for the company includes the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, https://www.lda.bayern.de/.
11. Changes to this notice
We update this privacy notice if the actual processing operations, services used or legal requirements change. The version published on this page applies.
